July 2021 - on the way to a new anchorage?

Introducing Kioni, built in 1980 and re-engined only 11 years ago, Kioni came to us from a 12 year stint on the Blackwater in Essex, during which she was laid up for several years following the bereavement of the previous owner.

Kioni is #186 of around 900 Leisure 23 ft yachts built near Bishops Stortford by Cobramould forty-odd years ago, and was designed with accommodation for a maximum of four people.

Together with my new boat-partner Keith, we purchased Kioni in August 2021 with the intention of doing some less adventurous sailing than I had done in Voltair with Robin. We sailed her in Essex last summer (2021) while we waited for a bespoke trailer to be built for us, then we brought her back to Worcestershire for winter storage and maintenance.

In 2022, we decided to situate her in the southwest, and after an offer of a berth at Poole, we eventually negotiated a finger berth at Queen Anne's Battery marina in Plymouth.

Due to a change in circumstances, we put her back on the market during the summer, and now she has a new owner and has moved on to the Penryn river in Falmoouth.

So now we are boatless, but we still have a splendid trailer, which is for sale in Worcestershire.

To read about what we did while we owned Kioni, it wasn't impressive, but I'll write it up soon.
